The Girl Child

Stop killing a baby girl
She is like a precious pearl
A fairy landed on earth
Stop killing them
And give them birth
She nurtures her family
And fulfills all the responsiblity
Being a daughter, wife, mother
She is exceptional
No one is like her.
From a tender age she is working
To make her family fully accomplished.
Love her, protect her, free her.
Because she is exceptional
And no one is like her.
If you kill her, there will be no life.
And one day will come when there will be all husbands and no wife.

A NEW DAY IS BORN   At the crack of dawn,  A new day is born.  The owls yawn.  Baby deer is called a fawn.   Little birds woke,  To each other they spoke,  “Good morning, good morning”  Slowly the sun started shinning  Spreading heat and light,  With all its might.   The cattle moo in the meadows,  Squirrels play in the trees’  shadows,  Little calf jumps around It’s mother,  who is bound.   The farmers’ in the fields,  Busy counting their yields.  And lazybones are still asleep,  Dreaming of bleating sheep.   By Meera Krishnan
